Tentoonstellingen

Het archief van de boekwinkel, de drukkerij/uitgeverij, het veilinghuis, de leesbibliotheek en de kunstzaal te Middelburg (1801-1998) bevat de negentiende-eeuwse boekhouding van boekhandel en veilinghuis, boekhandelscatalogi, correspondentie, auteurscontracten, onkostenberekeningen, prospectussen, documentatie en een manuscript. Het archief biedt inzicht in de organisatie van een vooraanstaande negentiende-eeuwse provinciale boekhandel, zowel waar het de relaties met collega's als met particuliere klanten betreft.

This is an archive of a combined bookshop, printing office, publisher, auction house, reading room and art gallery in Middelburg that flourished from 1801 to 1998. It contains the accounting of the bookshop and the auction house, as well as booksellers' catalogues, correspondence, contracts with authors, estimates of expenses, prospectuses, documentation and a manuscript. Most items date from the nineteenth century. The archive offers insight into the organization of a prominent regional bookseller, both in his relations with other booksellers and with private customers.

Het archief bestaat hoofdzakelijk uit documenten van bestuur en secretariaat van Stichting De Gouden Ganzenveer en van Academie De Gouden Ganzenveer, aangevuld met onder meer foto's en beeld- en geluidsdragers. Het materiaal heeft voornamelijk betrekking op de prijsuitreikingen in 2002-2016 en de voorbereiding daarvan. Het archief bevat daarnaast ouder materiaal met betrekking tot uitreiking van de Gouden Ganzenveer 'oude stijl' van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Uitgeversbond.

The archive consists mainly of documents from the board of Stichting De Gouden Ganzenveer and from Academie De Gouden Ganzenveer, supplemented with, among others, photos and audio-visual materials. Most of the documents are related to the award ceremonies in 2002-2016 and their preparations. The archive also contains materials regarding the award ceremonies of the Gouden Ganzenveer 'old style' by the Koninklijke Nederlandse Uitgeversbond.

Het archief van de grafisch ontwerper Bas Oudt (1956-2014) werd in 2009 door hemzelf geschonken aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Na zijn overlijden in 2014 volgde een aanvulling. Het archief bevat drie meter aan materiaal: grafische eindproducten als boeken, brochures, catalogi, huisstijlen, affiches naast enkele schetsen en werktekeningen. Ook is er materiaal uit de tijd dat Oudt verbonden was als student en docent aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.

The archive of graphic designer Bas Oudt (1956-2014) was donated to the University of Amsterdam by Oudt himself in 2009. More material was added following his death in 2014. The archive stretches to three metres of material, including graphic end products such as books, brochures, catalogues, house styles, posters, as well as a number of sketches and work drawings. There is also material from the time Oudt had been associated with the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam as a student and a lecturer.

Jan van Toorn (1932-2020) was een Nederlands grafisch ontwerper, die ook internationaal grote bekendheid genoot. Zijn archief bevat naast correspondentie en materiaal dat het ontwerpproces documenteert ook drukwerk, waaronder catalogi, affiches en kalenders. Het archief biedt een waardevolle blik op het leven en werk van een van de grootste namen in de geschiedenis van het grafisch ontwerpen in Nederland.

Jan van Toorn (1932-2020) was a Dutch graphic designer of international repute. In addition to correspondence and material documenting the design process, his archive also contains print work, including catalogues, posters and calendars. The archive offers valuable information on the life and work of one of the greatest names in the history of graphic design in the Netherlands.
