Annual reports

Mart Kempers (1924-1993) was een Nederlands grafisch vormgever, kunstschilder en illustrator. De collectie bestaat uit ontwerpen van boekomslagen voor uitgeverijen en uit brochures en jaarverslagen voor commerciële instellingen.

Mart Kempers (1924-1993) was a Dutch graphic designer, painter and illustrator. The collection consists of book jacket designs made for publishing companies and brochures and annual reports made for commercial organizations.

De archivalia van stichting Le-Ezrath Ha-Jeled zijn waarschijnlijk ontvangen door I.L. Seeligmann als bestuurslid van de stichting. Seeligmann was in deze periode ook conservator van de Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana. De stichting had in de jaren na de Tweede Wereldoorlog tot doel joodse weeskinderen onder te brengen bij joodse pleeggezinnen. Omdat de daadwerkelijke toewijzing door de overheid aan de Voogdijcommissie voor Oorlogspleegkinderen was opgedragen, had Le-Ezrath Ha-Jeled vooral een adviserende rol.

The archivalia of the Le-Ezrath Ha-Jeled Foundation were probably received by I.L. Seeligmann as a member of the Foundation's board. At that time, Seeligmann was also curator of the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana. In the years after the Second World War, the Foundation had set itself the goal of placing Jewish orphans in Jewish foster families. Because the government had assigned the actual task of allocating children to the Guardian Commission for War Foster Children, Le-Ezrath Ha-Jeled had primarily an advisory role.

De weduwe Nelleke van Lindonk schonk in 2013 na het overlijden van haar man, Peter van Lindonk (1936-2013), vrijwel alle boeken die ooit door zijn bedrijf Van Lindonk Special Projects geproduceerd zijn.

Nelleke van Lindonk, the widow of publisher and ringmaster Peter van Lindonk (1936-2013) donated virtually all books that were produced by his company, Van Lindonk Special Projects, in 2013.

De Nederlandsche Evangelisch-Protestantsche Vereeniging (NEPV) bestond van 1854 tot 1948. Het doel van de vereniging was aanvankelijk het terugdringen van de invloed van de Rooms-Katholieke Kerk en het oprukkende ongeloof maar werd later beperkt tot het uitdragen van het Evangelie. De connectie met de protestantse opwekkingsbeweging het Réveil bestond erin dat in het eerste bestuur van de vereniging verscheidene toonaangevende Réveilfiguren zoals Abraham Capadose zitting namen. Het archief bevat stukken betreffende het bestuur en de financiën van de vereniging en de correspondentie met de evangelisten.

The Nederlandsche Evangelisch-Protestantsche Vereeniging (the Dutch Evangelical Protestant Association) existed from 1854 to 1948. At first the NEPV aimed to drive back the influence of the Roman-Catholic Church and the increasing amount of irreligion, but later onwards this was limited to spreading the Gospel. The NEPV was connected to the Protestant revival movement Réveil in the sense that several leading figures of the Réveil, such as Abraham Capadose, were on the first board of directors of the NEPV. The archive consists of material about the board of governors, financial documents and correspondence with the evangelists.

Izaak Rafalowicz werd in 1899 in Polen geboren. Omdat het antisemitisme daar toenam, vertrok hij in 1918 naar Nederland. In Amsterdam was Rafalowicz in 1921 betrokken bij de oprichting van de Oost-joodse Cultuurvereniging Sch. An-Ski (1921-1979) waarvan hij vanaf 1945 voorzitter was. Daarnaast was hij lid van de Joodse Coördinatie Commissie (JCC, 1945-1948), die zich inzette voor de wederopbouw van de joodse gemeenschap na de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Hij was tevens actief voor de Organisation for Rehabilitation and Training (ORT), zowel voor de internationale organisatie als voor de Nederlandse tak daarvan. De ORT zet zich in voor onderwijs aan de joodse bevolking. In de collectie bevinden zich archivalia van de JCC en van de Stichting ORT-Holland, alsmede publicaties en stukken betreffende internationale congressen van de ORT.

Izaak Rafalowicz was born in Poland in 1899. He moved to the Netherlands in 1918 to escape the rising anti-Semitism in his own country. In Amsterdam, Rafalowicz was involved in the founding of the Eastern Jewish Workers Cultural Society Sch. An-Ski in 1921, of which he was the president from 1945 onwards. At the same time, he was a member of the Jewish Coordination Committee (JCC, 1945-1948), which worked to rebuild the Jewish community after World War II. Rafalowicz was also an active member of the Organisation for Rehabilitation and Training (ORT), working for the international organisation as well as the Dutch branch. The ORT is dedicated to providing education for the Jewish population. The collection contains archival items from the JCC and the ORT Holland Foundation as well as publications and documents dealing with the international ORT congresses.

De Stichting Het Réveil-archief werd in 1930 opgericht om materiaal van en over de negentiende-eeuwse Réveilbeweging te verzamelen. Het archief bevat voornamelijk vergaderstukken, jaarverslagen en correspondentie, alsmede stukken met betrekking tot de verwerving van aanwinsten en de organisatie van tentoonstellingen en studiedagen.

The 'Stichting Het Réveil-archief' was founded in 1930 in order to collect material of and about the Réveil movement in The Netherlands. The Réveil movement was part of the nineteenth-century international revival of Christianity, which in the Netherlands influenced a number of important authors, such as Willem Bilderdijk and Isaäc da Costa, as well as having its effect on politics and in social welfare. The archive of the corporation mainly contains meeting documents, annual reports and correspondence, but there are also documents concerning the acquisition of new material such as books, documents, letters etc. and documents regarding the organization of exhibitions and workshops.
