In 1851 besloten verschillende Amsterdamse ontgroeningssenaten tot samenwerking, waaronder Ne Praeter Modum (opgericht in 1818). Zij hieven zichzelf op en vormden de Illustrissimus Senatus Studiosorum Amstelodamensium (I.S.S.A.) als bestuur van een nieuwe studentenvereniging, het Amsterdamsch Studenten Corps (A.S.C.). De in 1902 opgerichte Amsterdamsche Vrouwelijke Studentenvereeniging (A.V.S.V.) fuseerde in 1971 met het A.S.C. De vereniging A.S.C./A.V.S.V. werd opengesteld voor studenten van de Vrije Universiteit en van hogere beroepsopleidingen. De vereniging kent vele subverenigingen en disputen. De collectie bestaat voornamelijk uit foto's, glasnegatieven, draagtekens en een aantal plakboeken van de genoemde gezelschappen, en geeft zo een uitstekend beeld van het studentenleven.

In 1851 a number of rag day senates, including the 'Ne Praeter Modum', which was founded in 1818, decided to cooperate. They promoted themselves to become the board of a new student union called the 'Amsterdamsch Studenten Corps' (ASC), and called themselves the 'Illustrissimus Senatus Studiosorum Amstelodamensium' (ISSA). In 1971 the 'Amsterdamsche Vrouwelijke Studentenvereeniging' (Amsterdam female student union - AVSV), founded in 1902, merged with the ASC. The student union which was the result of this merger was called ASC/AVSV and was open to students of the Vrije Universiteit and to students of a number of professional training institutes as well as to students of the University of Amsterdam. The ASC/AVSV incorporates many smaller student unions and senates. The collection consists mainly of photographs, glass negatives, emblems and a couple of scrapbooks of the societies mentioned, and, as such, gives a good insight into student life.

Gourmand World Cookbook Awards worden sinds 1995 jaarlijks uitgereikt voor kookboeken en boeken over drank die worden ingezonden van over de hele wereld. De collectie Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2012 bevat de genomineerde boeken uit 2011, waarvan een deel bekroond werd tijdens de prijsuitreiking in Parijs in maart 2012. De collectie werd begin 2013 overgedragen aan de Bijzondere Collecties van de Universiteit van Amsterdam. De collectie bevat kookboeken en boeken over drank uit 90 landen. De collectie biedt een internationaal overzicht van kookboeken en boeken over drank uit 2011.

The annual Gourmand World Cookbook Awards honor since 1995 cookery books and books on drinks from all over the world. The nominated books of 2011, including most of the award winning books presented at the award ceremony of 12 March 2012, were donated by Gourmand World Cookbook Awards to the Special Collections of the University of Amsterdam in January 2013. The collection contains books on food and drink, originating from 90 countries. The better part of the books were honored with the Gourmand World Cookbook Award.

Archief van Hugo de Vries, hoogleraar plantkunde aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam 1878-1918. Bevat correspondentie, aantekeningen van wetenschappelijk onderzoek, materiaal betreffende publicaties en lezingen, eerbewijzen, herinneringen aan buitenlandse studiereizen, stukken over zijn colleges en excursies met studenten, alsmede over zijn directeurschap van de Hortus Botanicus. Het archief geeft inzicht in het werk van een Nederlands botanicus die wereldfaam verwierf met nieuwe inzichten in de mechanismen van evolutie en erfelijkheid.

Archive of Hugo de Vries, professor at the University of Amsterdam from 1878 until 1918. Contains correspondence, notes of his scientific research, documents concerning publications and lectures, tokens of honour, souvenirs from his travels abroad, documents relating to his lectures for university students, and documents concerning his directorship of the Hortus Botanicus of the University of Amsterdam. The archive illustrates the work of a Dutch botanist who gained worldwide fame with novel insights into the mechanisms of speciation and heredity.
