Natuur-philosophisch Dispuut Albertus Magnus (Amsterdam, Netherlands)

In 1917 werd in Amsterdam Albertus Magnus opgericht als vakdispuut van de R.-K. studentenvereeniging 'Sanctus Thomas Aquinas' (S.T.A.). Dit dispuut hield werkvergaderingen op het gebied van de wis- en natuurkunde, met veel aandacht voor de verhouding van deze disciplines tot de katholieke levensbeschouwing. Na 1947 werd de band met S.T.A. losser. Rond 1965 is Albertus Magnus ten onder gegaan. Het incomplete en in slechte staat verkerende archief bevat correspondentie, notulen en ledenlijsten.

In 1917 Albertus Magnus was founded in Amsterdam as the debating society of the Roman Catholic student union Sanctus Thomas Aquinas (STA). It focused mainly on the curriculum and held meetings on mathematics and physics with special attention to the relation between these two disciplines on the one hand and Roman Catholicism on the other. After 1947 the tie with 'Thomas' loosened and around 1965 Albertus Magnus went down. The archive, which is incomplete and in poor condition, consists of correspondence, minutes and membership lists.
